Karachi: K-Electric (KE) has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown affecting dozens of feeders across Karachi on Tuesday, 28 July, as part of its ongoing network maintenance programme aimed at improving the reliability and stability of electricity supply.
According to the utility’s maintenance schedule, power supply will remain suspended for several hours in areas served by more than 35 feeders. The shutdown timings vary by location, with most outages beginning between 7:59am and 9:59am and restoration expected between 5:00pm and 7:59pm.
Among the feeders scheduled for maintenance are 36-B RMU, Adil Murad, Ajmair Garden, Al-Ghori, Army House, Askari-3, Assistant Director Electrical Housing, Batwa III, Beach View, Defence Pumping-2, DHA Hockey Stadium, Ghaniabad RMU, Grey Heights, Gulistan Market RMU, IBM, Ibrahim Nafees RMU (Ex Bagh-e-Malir), Ittehad Oil, Khursheed Homes, Mucca Chowk, Naveena Industry, NESCOS, NR Colony, Old Thana RMU, Omni Bus Depot, Paposh Nagar, PNSC, Quetta Town RMU, Rim Jhim Tower, Sadiq Re-Rolling, Secretary Government CHS, Sector-G, Shamsi Society, Surti Muslim CHS, Talha Cottages, Talha Qazi RMU, Tamuria Library (BL-H), United Steel and Valika Industry.
The earliest scheduled shutdowns will begin at 7:59am on feeders including 36-B RMU, while several other feeders will go offline from 8:00am, 8:59am, 9:00am, 9:04am and 9:59am, depending on the maintenance plan. Most services are expected to be restored by 5:59pm or 6:00pm, although a small number of feeders will remain under maintenance until 7:59pm.

KE said the planned outages are essential to facilitate maintenance work designed to strengthen the distribution network and minimise the risk of unplanned interruptions in the future.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas have been advised to plan their activities accordingly and take necessary precautions during the scheduled power suspension.
