ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Pakistan’s anti-government under its Plan-B, has blocked highways across the country in a bid to oust Prime Minister Imran Khan.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman repeated his demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Imran Khan and said that he was seeing snap elections in the current year.
While addressing the media, the JUI-F chief said, “2020 is far away. I see elections in 2019.”

He also raised the demand that Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Nawaz Sharif be allowed to leave the country on medical grounds, without any pre-conditions.
JUI-F activists blocked some important roads in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Sindh.
Earlier on Thursday, protesters blocked the Grand Trunk Road between Islamabad and Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, causing lengthy delays.

A similar disruption was reported in Jacobabad, a city in Sindh linking the province with Balochistan and Punjab.
However, authorities were able to divert traffic in several affected areas and there were no reports of protesters occupying other routes like the Karakoram Highway to China, one of nearly a dozen targets announced by the party.

The Plan-B of JUI-F’s Azadi March began on 13th November From Islamabad where they had been protesting since 31st October.
Thousands of supporters reached the capital Islamabad on Oct. 31, holding a two-week sit-in on the city’s main highway.
Rehman ordered them to disperse across the country on Wednesday to cripple essential roads, in what he called ‘Plan B’ to overthrow Imran Khan over allegations of voter fraud.
