ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police have claimed to have so far arrested 316 suspects in various operations that have been conducted in the backdrop of “vandalism and ransacking by PTI protesters.”

In a statement issued Wednesday morning, Federal capital Police said 58 police officers and jawans were injured while 12 vehicles and 20 bikes were set on fire in the violence that took place when PTI Chairman Imran Khan arrived at the Judicial Complex on Saturday.
Police said their teams were conducting more raids to arrest suspects involved in the disturbances, while at the same time, the process of identification of all suspects with the help of cameras continued.
The Police further said that information of those arrested by local Police was being shared with other districts to hand wanted suspects over to those areas.

Besides that, information about government employees involved in violent acts was also being shared with their concerned departments so as to initiate departmental action.

The Islamabad Police in their statement said previous police records of all the accused were also being obtained, and government servants active involved in ‘provocative activities’ on social media were also being identified.
The Police said that letters were being written to the Pakistan’s embassies about overseas Pakistanis involved in recent vandalism and violent acts, and action was being initiated against those who extended financial assistance to the protesters.
