Jemima Goldsmith, the former wife of Imran Khan, has disclosed that she has been forced to block emails from Pakistan due to alleged cyber harassment. In a statement shared on her Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, Goldsmith accused opponents of her ex-husband’s political party, the PTI, of orchestrating this “cyber harassment operation” against her.
Goldsmith stated: “To friends in Pakistan who are legitimately trying to contact me – I have had to block all emails from Pakistan thanks to a cyber harassment operation against me, no doubt instigated by PTI’s desperate opponents.”
She also mentioned that her post on X would only be visible to users accessing the platform via VPNs, as it is currently banned in Pakistan due to actions by these “desperate opponents.”
In a somewhat sardonic comment, Goldsmith remarked, “Pakistani politics, the gift that keeps on giving even after leaving the country 20 years ago,” referring to the ongoing social media attacks related to her previous relationship with Imran Khan.
Despite having a substantial following who admire her, Goldsmith has been targeted by critics of her ex-husband using misogynistic and racist rhetoric. During former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s self-imposed exile in London between 2019 and 2023, supporters of Sharif’s party, the PML-N, organized protests outside the Surrey home of Goldsmith’s mother. Some reports even suggested that the demonstrators threatened to force entry into the residence if Goldsmith did not come out.
The PML-N supporters claimed these protests were retaliation for the frequent demonstrations staged by PTI outside Avenfield House, where Sharif was residing.
Goldsmith lived in Pakistan during her marriage to Khan from 1995 to 2004, and they have two sons together, Sulaiman and Kasim.
