ISLAMABAD: A local court on Wednesday indicted PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Toshakhana case. However, the PTI Chief boycotted the court proceedings.

During the hearing held last week, Additional District and Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar had rejected PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s plea to dismiss the Toshakhana case against him for bring time-barred in nature, and fixed May 10 (today) for indicting him.
During the hearing, Imran Khan refused to accept the charge and sign the documents and boycotted the indictment proceedings in the Tosha Khana criminal case. Khan’s lawyers requested that the case be transferred to another judge, but their request was rejected.

Later, lawyers told the media that the court wanted to indict Khan, but they had boycotted the proceedings.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar was appointed in the last week of April to hear the criminal case filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against Imran Khan.

It may be recalled that last year, a reference was filed against him by lawmakers from the ruling coalition accusing him of not sharing the details of gifts he retained from Toshakhana in his assets declarations and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had concluded in October last year that the PTI chief filed false statements regarding the gifts.
The electoral watchdog subsequently, disqualified him for being dishonest and corrupt and approached the district and sessions court seeking criminal proceedings Imran Khan for allegedly misleading officials about the gifts.
