Drama serial ‘Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay’ has been a target of criticism ever since it started airing. Despite its star-studded cast, the drama with a weak plot and numerous loopholes could not be saved from immense backlash.
Just in a recent episode which aired on 28th November, ‘Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay’, which is already struggling to gain positive reviews from the audience, took a new turn and shows Mehreen, essayed by Mahira Khan, despite being humiliated by Aswad, played by Usman Mukhtar, confesses her love for him.
The backlash does not end here, the viewers are now tired of OST that keeps on playing as background music in the drama. According to them, there are more lyrics in the drama than the dialogues.
I definitely didn’t expect this from Nimrah Ahmed, normalizing and romanticizing domestic violence and abusive marriage is the root of the problem. No wonder there’s a qurat-ul-ain in every house suffering in silence and cursing her fate.

#humkahankesachaythay, a drama that successfully demolish the struggle of almost a decade of media of educating females not to bear any type of domestic violence, mental or physical. After this drama more tren #JusticeForNosheenKazmi#JusticeForQuratulain pic.twitter.com/x0hhWXjRk7

Humsafar is my personal favourite too. This is how it should work. Mehreen’s character in #humkahankesachaythay is so depressive that I watched its 2 episodes and cried for weeks. So I STOPPED. I have idea of the storyline but No I don’t want to cry this much!! 🙏🙏 https://t.co/Gb63aLwycI

“Mummy aap Kya keh rahi hain” se “Aswad aap kya keh rahain hain” ka suffer (pun fully intended).

Such pessimist character like #Maheen in #humkahankesachaythay n sadist character like #Aswad make you feel hating life n relationships. N it’s not a thing to be encouraged by a writer like #UmeraAhmad anyways. pic.twitter.com/HWD5PtSgQn

#humkahankesachaythay is all about 1% dialogues and 99% “tere bin, tere binn, tere binnn, tereee binnnn” 🤦♀️🙂 pic.twitter.com/DOERbV7iyy

an alternative storyline of #humkahankesachaythay: aswad eats rat poison & dies. mehreen & mashal realize that they were aiween crushing after a raging asshole & become friends. the entire family goes to therapy & finally gets it shit together. kahani khatam, paisa hazam!

Pls help me understand why #HumKahanKeSachayThay is still popular? Continued subjugation of Mehreen is getting old. Even her loving Khala sees marrying her off to one man or another as her salvation. A capable, award winning woman reduced to dust – and she accepts it as fate🤬 pic.twitter.com/zvlLZQSj3c
