ISLAMABAD: Rumors of the arrest of opposition leaders Asif Ali Zardari, Shahbaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman before the no-confidence motion are floating, political observers have hinted at escalating political tensions in the country.
Political circles and informed sources say that the government has planned to arrest the opposition leadership, former president Asif Ali Zardari, opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif and PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on charges of sedition before voting on the no-confidence motion on Sunday.
On the other hand, the PTI leadership has ordered workers across the country, including in Islamabad, to protest on the streets on the day of the vote on the no-confidence motion, after which the Red Zone has been sealed off in view of political tensions in Islamabad.

According to sources, the PTI leadership has ordered workers to take to the streets in all the cities tomorrow, which has raised fears of tensions, while arresting the opposition leadership could lead to a confrontation.
It should be noted that no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to be voted in the National Assembly tomorrow.
