Just days after fans were left stunned by the apparent death of ACP Pradyuman, portrayed by veteran actor Shivaji Satam, new reports suggest that the iconic character will return to CID.
According to the Times of India, Shivaji Satam is expected to resume shooting for the show within the next few weeks.
The backlash following ACP Pradyuman’s dramatic (yet off-screen) exit was intense, especially after Sony TV posted a tribute calling it “the end of an era.” The emotional reaction from long-time viewers led many to question if the character’s death was truly final.
Now, a source close to the production has confirmed that the character is far from gone:
“ACP Pradyuman is an iconic character and he can never die. Shivaji Satam will be back on the show in a few weeks.”
The temporary replacement, Parth Samthaan, who recently claimed he was stepping into ACP Pradyuman’s shoes, will reportedly appear for a limited run. The show has a history of reviving key characters through plot twists, and this move seems to follow that tradition.
In a recent episode, the character was believed to be killed by criminal Barboza (played by Tigmanshu Dhulia) in an explosion—though the death wasn’t shown directly. Shivaji Satam, in a prior interview with Bombay Times, claimed he was unaware of any permanent exit, stating,
“I have taken a break for sometime… but I have not been told whether my track is over or not.”
It seems fans can now breathe a sigh of relief—ACP Pradyuman is making a comeback.
