Marco Rubio has said a possible agreement between the United States and Iran could be announced within hours, following progress in talks over the Strait of Hormuz and Tehran’s nuclear program.
Speaking in New Delhi, Rubio said negotiations over the past 48 hours had produced an outline that could help resolve tensions in the strategically important waterway.
Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News agency has been reporting on the rhetoric coming out of Tehran about the potential MOU between Iran and the US to end the war.

According to Reuters and Iran’s Tasnim news agency, the proposed deal would restore shipping through the Strait of Hormuz to pre-war levels within 30 days and require Iran to fully lift its naval blockade.

The agreement could also include the phased release of some frozen Iranian funds. Rubio said the broader goal remained ensuring the world no longer fears an Iranian nuclear weapon, though he said more work was still needed.
Meanwhile, Tasnim reported that Tehran has not yet agreed to any commitments regarding its nuclear program. Under the proposed framework, a 30-day timeline has been set for measures related to the Strait of Hormuz, while nuclear negotiations would continue over a 60-day period.
