Iranian state media have claimed that two Israeli fighter jets were shot down after entering Iranian airspace, and an Israeli female pilot was also captured.
According to the Iranian news agency IRNA, the incident took place on Friday when Israeli planes entered Iranian territory.
State TV said that Iran’s air defenses responded quickly and destroyed at least one plane while the pilot was taken into custody alive.
On the other hand, Israeli authorities have strongly denied all these reports. A senior Israeli official told AFP that this news spread by Iran is mere propaganda aimed at diverting attention from recent Israeli attacks.
According to the official, Israel carried out attacks on military and nuclear facilities in Iran on Friday, in which important commanders were killed.
Iranian media have not yet provided any video, photos, or concrete evidence of the downing of the planes or the capture of the pilot, leading international observers to view the claim with skepticism.
