Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has fired on U.S. military positions in Bahrain and Kuwait.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has fired on U.S. military positions in Bahrain and Kuwait.

In response to US airstrikes on Iran and the reimposition of sanctions on Iranian oil sales, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has targeted US military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait with missiles and drones.

Following the retaliatory strikes, security sirens sounded in Kuwait and Bahrain, while the Kuwaiti military said its defense systems had engaged enemy missiles and drones. The renewed conflict pushed global crude oil prices up by more than 3%.

Earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a statement saying the strikes were carried out in retaliation for attacks on three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the US military, it targeted Iranian missile and drone launch sites, as well as more than 60 small boats belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Iranian media reported that the strikes hit key oil hubs, including Kharg Island, Qeshm Island, and coastal cities such as Bandar Abbas. The attacks damaged fishing docks and a commercial base, while several people were also injured.

Iran’s top military command, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, strongly condemned the US strikes, calling them “open aggression” and warning that they would receive a “crushing response.” The command said Tehran would not tolerate US interference in the management of the Strait of Hormuz under any circumstances.

Iran’s senior negotiator and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf wrote on social media that the era of “bullying and coercion” was over and that Iran would not back down.

Accusing the United States of violating the ceasefire, Ghalibaf said Washington had not only carried out military strikes but had also reinstated oil sanctions and used Israel to launch attacks on Lebanon.
