Millions of iPhone owners in the United States could receive payments ranging from $25 to as much as $95 per device after Apple agreed to settle a $250 million class-action lawsuit linked to its Apple Intelligence and Siri features.
The lawsuit accused Apple of overstating the capabilities of Siri and Apple Intelligence in promotional campaigns during 2024 and 2025. Although the company agreed to the settlement, Apple did not admit wrongdoing.
Under the proposed agreement, eligible customers will receive a base payment of $25 for each qualifying iPhone. However, the amount could increase to as much as $95 per device depending on the number of claims filed and other settlement-related factors.
Consumers who purchased multiple eligible iPhones, including family-plan devices, may qualify for payments on each device.
According to the settlement filing dated May 5, U.S. customers who bought the following iPhone models between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025 may qualify for compensation:
iPhone 16
iPhone 16e
iPhone 16 Plus
iPhone 16 Pro
iPhone 16 Pro Max
iPhone 15 Pro
iPhone 15 Pro Max
The lawsuit focused on Apple’s marketing of a more advanced AI-powered Siri during the launch of the iPhone 16 lineup in 2024. Consumers alleged that the company promoted features that were not yet fully available to users.
Apple Intelligence, introduced at WWDC 2024, included AI-based tools such as notification summaries, Genmoji and an upgraded Siri experience. However, many of the promised Siri improvements have yet to arrive.
Reports suggest Apple may unveil a new AI-powered Siri, potentially integrated with Google Gemini, during WWDC 2026 in June.
The settlement still requires approval from a judge. Once approved, a dedicated settlement website will be launched with instructions for eligible users to submit claims.
