SRINAGAR: Indian occupied Kashmir has reported its first death in the valley due to the coronavirus disease in the wee hours of Thursday.
According to reports, a 65-year-old man infected with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) died at Chest Disease (CD) Hospital at Dalgate, in Srinagar.
The patient had a medical history of illness with sugar, hypertension, and obesity. The patient is said to be a resident of Hyderpora Srinagar who had returned from New Delhi, UP in India and Jammu recently after being part of a ‘Tableeghi Jamaat’ and had visited Indonesia and Malaysia.
As of now, eight persons have tested positive for the coronavirus disease in the Kashmir Valley while the tally of such patients in the entire territory has gone up to 11. Three cases were reported from Jammu earlier this month.
The death toll from the Coronavirus has risen more than 21,000 worldwide. The deadly coronavirus has killed another six hundred people in Italy and the total number has been 7,550.
Casualties in Spain exceeded China’s total deaths. Spain’s Deputy Prime Minister Carmen Calabo has also been affected by a coronavirus.
