GILGIT: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has lauded the role of Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts in maintaining law and order in the region.
Visiting the Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts Headquarters in Gilgit today (Friday), he said the force is showing extraordinary valour at Siachen border. “Gilgit-Baltistan is playing an important role in the development of the country,” he added.
The Interior Minister further said that Pakistan’s water and energy problems will end with the completion of the Diamer-Bhasha dam. He earlier arrived in Gilgit on a two-day visit to Gilgit-Baltistan.
On arrival at Gilgit Airport, Director-General GB Scouts Zia-ur-Rehman and senior officials of the district administration received him.
