WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to reshare status updates in which they have been mentioned, according to a report by Wabetainfo.
The upcoming “Reshare Status Updates” function aims to improve user experience by simplifying the process of resharing content.
With this new feature, users will no longer need to take manual screenshots or request the original sharer to resend updates in which they have been tagged. Instead, the addition of a resharing option to the status update interface will provide a seamless and user-friendly way to share content with their contacts.
Currently, sharing a status update where a user has been mentioned involves a cumbersome process, often requiring screenshots or direct requests to the original poster. The new feature will address these inefficiencies by offering a straightforward resharing option directly from the status update screen.
The “Reshare Status Updates” button will be prominently placed within the status interface, allowing users to quickly share tagged updates with their contacts without additional steps. This update is expected to significantly enhance how users interact with status updates on WhatsApp.
The feature is still under development and is not yet available to beta testers. While WhatsApp has not announced a specific timeline for its official release, it is expected to be included in a future update of the app.
