India’s state-owned broadcaster Doordarshan has aired misleading footage related to Israel’s recent attack on Iran, presenting old videos from October 2024 as if they were from the current incident.
During the broadcast, Doordarshan’s news anchor falsely claimed, “Iran trembled in the wake of Israeli strikes,” a statement far from reality.
Renowned Indian intellectual Sandeep Manudhane strongly criticized the Indian media’s irresponsible reporting. He remarked, “This is India’s national broadcaster, funded by taxpayers’ money. Iran is a friend of India, and India has significant investments there.”
Meanwhile, fake videos claiming to depict Israel’s attack on Iran—actually from October 2024—are spreading rapidly on social media, misleading the public regarding the current situation.
Global media outlets have also taken notice of this disinformation campaign by Indian state media, expressing serious concerns.
Both the Iranian government and its people have voiced strong objections to this deceptive reporting, calling it misleading and irresponsible.
