Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir district of Rajouri, Raj Kumar Thapa, succumbed to his injuries and died following a Pakistani attack.
The incident occurred during a targeted strike by Pakistani forces in the Rajouri sector along the Line of Control (LoC), in which Indian military and administrative installations were targeted.
According to security sources, this operation is part of a broader campaign by Pakistan aimed at destroying Indian positions that were allegedly being used for sabotage activities inside Pakistan.
So far, Indian authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the incident. However, British media outlet BBC has confirmed Raj Kumar Thapa’s death.
The BBC stated that Additional Deputy Commissioner Raj Kumar Thapa, who was in Rajouri city, died as a result of Pakistani shelling, citing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
“Sad news from Rajouri. We have lost a dedicated officer of the Jammu and Kashmir administration,” Abdullah wrote in a post, according to BBC.

“Today, the officer’s residence was hit by Pakistani shelling, which targeted Rajouri city and killed our Additional District Development Commissioner Shri Raj Kumar Thapa. There are no words to express my deep shock and sorrow at this grave loss.” He added.

Government officials told the media that at least two more people, both civilians, were killed due to the shelling in Indian-administered Kashmir’s Jammu city.
