LAHORE: A personnel of India’s Border Security Force (BSF) found himself in trouble after inadvertently crossing into Pakistani territory, where he was apprehended by Pakistan Rangers along with his weapon.
According to official sources, the BSF constable, identified as P.K. Singh of the 182nd Battalion, was detained after he crossed the international border into Pakistan near the Ferozepur sector.
Pakistan Rangers acted swiftly after the unauthorized incursion, arresting the armed soldier and taking him into custody for further investigation.
Indian media reports claim that the BSF soldier crossed the border “by mistake” while accompanying a group of farmers near the frontier area. He reportedly entered Pakistani territory unintentionally while taking a rest.
Flag meetings between Pakistan Rangers and BSF officials are currently underway to negotiate the return of the detained soldier.
The incident has further highlighted the sensitive nature of the India-Pakistan border, where even minor missteps can lead to serious diplomatic and security consequences.
