What is Heterochromia?

Heterochromia is a characteristic whereby the iris of one eye has a different color from that of the other, often giving rise to truly peculiar and fascinating looks. Have a look at some of the most beautiful celebrities with different colored eyes in this gallery!

Demi Moore

Demi Moore, one of Hollywood’s most famous and beloved actresses, has different colored eyes. Although at first glance it is unnoticeable, her left eye is slightly lighter than the right one.

Kate Bosworth

More evident, however, is the case of Kate Bosworth, whose right eye has a double color: blue and brown.

Henry Cavill

Henry Cavill’s gaze is also characterized by heterochromia. If you look closely, you can see how one eye has a more pigmented, brown area than the other.

Jane Seymour

The eyes of the famous Lady of the West, Jane Seymour, are bright blue and intense hazelnut.

David Bowie

We conclude with the biggest star of all, this time in the musical field. Bowie did not have heterochromia, but he did suffer from mydriasis, the result of a blow to the eye he received as a teenager. One of his eyes was clear blue and the other a dark shade of brown.

Not only movie stars, but also athletes like Max Scherzer can have two different colored eyes. The pitcher in Major League Baseball has one eye green and the other is dark brown.

Judd Hirsch

Judd Hirsch, the protagonist of the series ‘Detective in the House’ (1985) and winner of the Golden Globe for playing John Lacey in ‘Dear John’ (1988-1992), also has different colored eyes.

Dominic Sherwood

Dominic Sherwood, protagonist of the series ‘Shadowhunters,’ has one of his eyes blue, while the other is half blue and half brown.

Mila Kunis

In the case of Mila Kunis, it is not heterochromia but uveitis, a chronic inflammation of the iris, that caused her eyes to have different colors. In fact, at one point, she was on the verge of losing sight in one eye. After a delicate surgery of the eye, its color changed slightly.

Elizabeth Berkley

As you could have guessed from the first photo, the unforgettable Jessica Spano from ‘Saved by the Bell’,  Elizabeth Berkley, also has heterochromia. One of her eyes is green and the other is half green and half brown.

Sarah McDaniel

Among the most obvious examples of people with heterochromia is the American model Sarah McDaniel. She was the cover girl of the first ‘dressed’ issue of Pl * yboy magazine in 2016. Her left eye is a deep blue while the right eye is green.

Liam James

The Canadian-born actor, best known for his role as the young Shawn Spencer in the TV series ‘Psych,’ has different colored eyes: one green, and one blue.

Bill Pullman

Bill Pullman, famous for starring in ‘Spaceballs’ (1987), ‘Independence day’ (1996), and the mystery series ‘The Sinner’ (2017-2021), has blue eyes but one of them has a small brown spot.

Alice Eve

British actress Alice Eve also has different colored irises. One of her eyes is green while the other is blue.

Daniela Ruah

Also having different colored eyes is Daniela Ruah, known for her role as Kensi Blye in the television series ‘NCIS: Los Angeles.’ In the photo you can see how one eye is much darker than the other.
