Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) officially announced Ali Amin Gandapur as their nominee for the position of Chief Minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday.
The confirmation came directly from PTI founder Imran Khan during a formal discussion with journalists.
Khan emphasized that the PTI will not engage in negotiations with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahid Qoumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) for government formation.
Discussing the February 8 election, he said that a rigged election would create further instability in the country as well as hurt the economy.
On government formation, he said that an agreement has not been reached to nominate the candidate for the post of prime minister.
However, the PTI founder said that Ali Amin Gandapur has been nominated for the post of chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The former prime minister resolved to approach the Supreme Court against the election results, saying that the Feb 8 elections were the most rigged election in Pakistan’s history.
The PTI is working to bring together all parties that are protesting against the rigging, he said, while reiterating that free and fair election was the only solution to the country’s problems.
Khan also denied plans to shift to his Islamabad Bani Gala residence. He denied meeting high-ranking officials inside Adiala jail.
