PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja claimed on Wednesday that Imran Khan has lost vision in one eye due to alleged prison mistreatment and lack of proper medical care.
The former premier has reportedly been kept in isolation for months without access to his lawyers, family members, or personal doctors. This restriction raises concerns over basic human rights, as prisoners are generally entitled to legal counsel, family contact, and medical care.
Speaking to reporters outside the Supreme Court in Islamabad, Raja said “all doors of justice appear closed,” alleging that the PTI founder has been imprisoned for around 1,000 days and is being denied fundamental constitutional rights.
According to a medical report submitted to the Supreme Court by his lawyer and amicus curiae Salman Safdar, the former prime minister has been diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), a serious eye condition.
Raja further alleged that meetings with Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are being restricted, despite court orders allowing visitation. He claimed that even legal formalities, including signatures on vakalatnamas, are being obstructed.
He also said that only select individuals are permitted to meet the PTI founder, while his sisters have been denied access despite his deteriorating health condition.
