KARACHI: The higher authorities of the horticulture department of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) have illegally posted a 1-grade gardener to the post of Deputy Director.
According to details, 1-grade gardener, Azad Khan, is also utilizing a government vehicle 4830-GL with fuel for the past 12 years. Convention allowance is not being deducted from Azad Khan’s pay.
MM News obtained a copy of his payslip, in which it can be seen that no deduction is made in respect of convention allowance. Sources further claimed that Azad Khan has been the personal secretary of Director-General Park for 13 years.
Relevant sources have informed that five vehicles were procured for the Horticulture Department during the tenure of the former DG Park. The vehicles were illegally allotted to the preferred officers, including Azad Khan, instead of the eligible officers.
When contacted in this regard, Azad Khan refuted the claims, saying that the convention allowance was being deducted regularly from his salary.
