IGP assures Sindh police support to journalists

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Dr Syed Kaleem Imam during a meeting in a local hotel Karachi, has assured his full support to the Crime Reporter Association (CRA). 
The IGP came up with assurance after he met with CRA members and discussed various issues especially the damage to the journalism sector due to fake journalists.
IGP Sindh said that fake journalists and fake societies that libel the journalism profession should be identified to ensure effective legal action against them.
He said Journalism is actually the name of honesty, of dealing with challenges, of supporting people in problems and difficulties, and above all, it is the name of becoming a voice of truth and courage and courageously fighting with crimes.
The police chief said that the media must identify the weak performance of the police, as well as good works of the police, should be conveyed to the public.
CRA General Secretary Taha Obaidi put some recommendations regarding the coordination of police and reporters, in front of Kaleem Imam and AIG Sindh.
