Alam Lohar stepped into the world of music in the early days of his life and rose to fame by singing in the theaters at that time. ‘Heer Waris Shah’ took Alam Lohar to new heights of fame. He sang Heer Waris Shah in more than 30 genres of music and made a record that is still ingrained in the soil of Punjab.
Alam Lohar has created many unique songs including Veer Maria Jagni, Wajaan Marian, Dilwala Dakhra, Moda Mar Ke Halai, Qissa Sohni Mahiwal, and many other songs. He used tongs as a musical instrument and introduced the world to a new instrument. This folk singer from Punjab had a great skill in playing tongs.
Alam Lohar has been awarded numerous awards and honors, including the Medal of Merit for his technical services.
