Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Abid Sher Ali has criticized Karachi’s infrastructure, saying he needs physiotherapy after returning from the city due to the condition of its roads.
Speaking to a private television channel, he challenged anyone to point out a road in Karachi without bumps, adding that the city also lacks an adequate supply of clean drinking water.
Responding to a question about former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Abid Sher Ali said Khan is facing the consequences of his own actions, asserting that no politically motivated cases were filed against him by the current government.
He also remarked that he finds little to admire about Imran Khan, adding that spending a month in Attock Fort Jail would demonstrate that the facility is not as harsh as it is often portrayed. He described it as a place where inmates are provided with food and relatively comfortable living conditions.
Commenting on the iddat case, Abid Sher Ali said that, as the father of daughters, he preferred not to comment on the matter, adding that only God knows whether a marriage took place during the prescribed waiting period.
He further said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif remains active and suggested that anyone doubting his fitness should “play a game of cricket with him.”
Discussing water policy, Abid Sher Ali said the era of “my water versus your water” politics should come to an end. He stressed that failing to build canals harms the country and noted that Pakistan suffers multiple forms of damage from floods every year.
