Climate change unleashed its fury in the Hunza Valley when a large section of the Ultar Glacier broke off, crashing down in the form of a massive avalanche and sweeping over a significant portion of the area.
According to details, strong and icy winds have gripped the region, disrupting daily life for the second consecutive day.
Experts say that avalanches typically begin to occur in March and April.
Experts believe that the glacier’s collapse and avalanches in November indicate the intensifying impact of climate change. The Ultar Glacier is considered one of Hunza’s major glaciers, and its breakup has caused deep concern among local residents.
Officials say that the situation is currently being assessed, while experts maintain that climate change is a key factor behind the incident.
As global temperatures continue to rise, Hunza is increasingly experiencing the effects of environmental shifts.
