Are economic growth or human development two different things? We have been hearing for years that the economy is growing and exports are increasing but what we are exporting is not available in the local market. And even if it is available, it is beyond the purchasing power of the common man.
Do we only look at economic indicators? Or consider the value of the common man. If we talk about the people, there are some points that can make life easier. From the point of view of humanity, the most important thing in a human being is sincerity and with it spirituality, then honesty, kindness, integrity and selflessness.
By combining all these values, when we take steps for the economy, we consider it as the development of the economy which makes the people and the country prosperous. Politicians divide all these things into different categories and present them as dreams. The values through which the whole world makes policies are always ignored in Pakistan.
In such a situation, the government deprives people of the blessings that Allah Almighty has bestowed on them and benefits some businessmen by selling these items to other countries. And then the government is pleased by showing the export numbers. The government should first take steps in the interest of the people to provide Pakistanis with high quality products made in this country at affordable prices.
But what happens is that high quality items are sent out and shoddy items are provided to the public. The rich get richer and the people of the country get poorer. Institutions must work with honesty, integrity and understanding their religious duty to control quality and price to curb inflation.
The government has made electricity more expensive, gas more expensive, water supply has always been in short supply. Interest rates for industrialists have been raised which directly increased the cost of production. To cover this, industrialists and traders send quality good abroad and keep their discarded and bad for the public.
If the government really wants to curb inflation, it will have to reduce electricity prices, supply gas and water and reduce interest rates so that the goods at which they are exported will be made available to the public at low prices. Japan is the only country that makes its goods extremely cheap which is used not only by its people but also by the whole world.
It should be noted that this is also the requirement of humanity to first think for the comfort and convenience of one’s home and then to provide the same comfort and luxury to others. Our Prime Minister is praising the export numbers but he does not realize that due to his wrong policies exporters are getting richer and people are getting poorer.
