The Ministry of Information Technology and Huawei have launched an ICT training portal, under which the technology company Huawei will provide training to 300,000 Pakistani youth annually. So far, 5,000 students have completed their training.
According to the media, a ceremony was held in Islamabad where Minister of State for IT, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, shared statistics regarding the students who received training through Huawei.
Speaking at the event, Minister of State Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasized that information technology is of great importance in the modern era.
She stated that the government has already trained thousands of students in IT courses, and now Huawei will provide training to 300,000 children annually. Shaza Fatima further shared that over 17,000 students have already been trained, with 5,000 trainers having completed their training.
The Minister of State for IT also mentioned that more than 150 million young people in Pakistan are under 30 years old, and for the strengthening of the economy, there is a critical need for trained youth.
Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, announced that Lahore will become Pakistan’s first state-of-the-art smart city with the collaboration of Huawei.
On the fifth day of her visit, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz arrived at Huawei Technologies’ headquarters in the Longgang District of Shanghai, where she was warmly welcomed.
During her visit, Maryam Nawaz invited Huawei to invest in Pakistan, particularly in Punjab and offered collaboration in establishing an office in the Nawaz Sharif IT City. She also assured Huawei of full cooperation in setting up assembly and manufacturing plants in Punjab. Additionally, she proposed the establishment of Huawei retail offices and after-sales service centers across the province.
