In Pakistan, the government has announced three-day holidays for Eid ul Adha 2025, which will be from 7 to 9 June, however, the final announcement of these holidays will be made after the sighting of the Zul-Hijj moon.
Eid ul Adha is celebrated on the 10th of the Islamic month of Zul-Hijj, and on this day, Muslims across the world sacrifice animals and distribute the meat among the poor as a religious obligation.
The day not only highlights the importance of the act of sacrifice but also symbolizes the unity, selflessness, and compassion of Muslims towards the poor.
The purpose of the Eid ul Adha holidays is not only to respect religious beliefs but also to encourage individuals to spend time with each other and help the poor at the social level.
According to the list of holidays issued by the federal government, government offices and educational institutions across the country will remain closed during Eid.
Regarding the sighting of the moon, the government has clarified that the final decision on the dates of Eid ul Adha will be made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after the sighting of the moon, after which the holidays will be officially announced.
