According to Twitter hashtags and GEO TV, season 3 of ‘Khuda Aur Mohabbat’ was one of the biggest blockbuster dramas which aired its last episode on weekend.
Many started watching the drama because of its previous two seasons which actually really had positive reviews and few of them started watching the drama after seeing it as the most trending hashtag on Twitter every week on Friday.
However, most of them could not follow Feroze Khan starrer drama when the drama started romanticising harassment. Now, as the drama has come to an end, these are the few takeaways points from the drama:
Stalking is the new normal
Stalking someone is cute and completely normal as Farhad stalked Mahi and came all the way to her home town started working at her home and when Mahi asked him to leave, he chose to stay because he likes her probably everything is fair in ‘love’ and ‘war’, well indeed it is but people forget love should not be onesided.
Misunderstood friendship
Next time think twice before offering someone a glass of water or juice with a smiling face because it could lead someone that you might like them. Strange isn’t it? Well, it happened with Maahi when she offered Farhad a glass of juice and asked his help to drive (which she can as he is an employee). But Farhad thinks that she likes him. No Farhad she not! Imagining someone’s act of kindness is love won’t help people at all, it creates confusion.
Tendency to blame others
According to ‘Khuda Aur Mohabbat’, if you like a girl you confess her, and if she doesn’t like you back it’s normal to stalk her. It’s a one-sided love and the girl has never shied away from telling him on his face that she does not like him. But at this point, if a girl still refuses to like him back, just curse her. At least cursing someone is better than throwing acid on her face or shooting her to death.
Abandoning parents
So Farhad technically left his parents who he knows for over 25 years for a girl he knew not more than 25 days. He stopped working, left his family behind because it’s ok it’s love? His parents are old and dependant on him but its fine for Farhad to ignore them because he is in love.
Showing wrong ‘iddat’
In this drama Mahi loses her husband on the wedding night in an accident, the drama focused on a widowed Mahi living with her inlaws at his deceased husband’s home. Mahi completed her ‘iddat’ (a religious ritual in which a woman cannot come in front of namehram for a specific period of time.
So whole episodes where Mahi is in iddat, she can be seen coming in front of her brother in law, which itself is a misinterpretation of a holy ritual.
Jack Dawson’s ‘You jump I jump’
Finally in the last episode of toxic and cringe-worthy ‘Khuda Aur Mohabbat’, viewers witnessed a bizarre death that even doctors cannot identify. Yes, somehow Mahi fell in love with Farhad who previously stalked her, harassed her, and even cursed her, when she goes to meet Farhad, who is ill they finally reunited in a shrine (people usually come to deepen their connection with God).
Farhad dies seeing the glimpse of Mahi and Mahi on another hand who is completely normal with no complicated medical history dies after seeing Farhad dead. This is how blockbuster drama (according to Twitter trends and Geo TV) ended.
Surprisingly, this drama featured Feroze Khan and Iqra Aziz, beside them, there were other good actors like Javed Sheikh, Junaid Khan, Tooba Siddiqui, Hina Khawaja Bayat, Rubina Ashraf, Usmaan Peerzada, Sunita Marshall, Asma Abbas, and Waseem Abbas in the drama. Nowadays, the storyline is all that matters yet these actors chose to act in such drama whose title was ‘Khuda Aur Mohabbat’ but spirituality was nowhere to be seen.
