London: Global residence and citizenship advisory firm Henley & Partners has released its Passport Index for the period from July to December 2026, once again highlighting the dominance of Asian countries. Pakistan’s passport, meanwhile, remains among the weakest in the world.
According to the report, Singapore has retained its position as the world’s most powerful passport.
Singaporean passport holders can travel to 192 destinations without obtaining a visa in advance or by using simplified visa arrangements, securing the country’s place at the top of the rankings.
The United Arab Emirates, Japan and South Korea share second place, with their passport holders enjoying visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 188 destinations.
Sweden ranks third, with its passport providing visa-free or simplified entry to 187 destinations worldwide.
Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Spain jointly occupy fourth place. Passport holders from these countries have visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 186 destinations.
Greece, Austria, Malta, Portugal and Switzerland share fifth place, with their citizens able to travel to 185 destinations without obtaining a visa in advance.
