Lahore Qalandars’ star pacer, Haris Rauf, has been forced to withdraw from the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine following an unfortunate injury sustained during the match against Karachi Kings at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.
The disheartening news was confirmed by Lahore Qalandars in an official press release, stating, “Haris Rauf, Pakistan, and Lahore Qalandars’ premier fast bowler, will be unavailable for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League after suffering a dislocated shoulder during a narrow defeat against Karachi Kings last night.”
The injury occurred when Rauf, in the 20th over, landed awkwardly on his shoulder while completing a spectacular catch to dismiss Hasan Ali. Despite the evident discomfort, Rauf displayed tremendous resilience, walking off the field with his arm strapped, and subsequently undergoing scans to assess the extent of the injury.
Rauf’s exceptional performance in the match included bowling the most economical four overs, conceding only 22 runs, and taking a crucial wicket. His contribution played a pivotal role in the final over, shaping the outcome of the game.
The medical panel, after thorough consultation, determined that Rauf requires four to six weeks for recovery, making it imperative for him to miss the remainder of the PSL season.
