ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on Wednesday inaugurated the Hajj Management System for receiving applications and Hajj dues, marking the beginning of an end-to-end digitalisation of arrangements for Hajj 2027.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the minister said the Ministry of Religious Affairs had initiated the digitisation process on the special instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in collaboration with the National IT Board.

He said more than 400,000 people had already completed Hajj registration from their homes, while registered pilgrims would now be able to submit applications and pay the first instalment online without visiting a bank.

Applications, verification and payments under one system

The minister said 107,526 seats had been allocated to the government Hajj scheme for 2027 and pilgrims would be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

He urged registered applicants to complete their applications according to the prescribed procedure and pay the first instalment within the stipulated time.

A briefing at the ceremony said the new system connects key institutions involved in Hajj arrangements, including the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Habib Bank, the Passport Office and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. Applications, document verification, payments and application tracking will be integrated into a single digital platform.

Pilgrims will create an account and submit their personal and travel details, select their departure city and Hajj package, and upload required documents online.

Passport information will also be retrieved and verified through the Passport Office’s records, while family or group members will be able to link their individual applications. Hajj dues can be paid through 1LINK, Pay ID, credit or debit cards, while ATM and branch payments will also be available through digital challans. Applicants will subsequently be able to track their application and payment status online.

The ministry said the Pak Hajj App and Hajj Portal were designed to eliminate bank queues, unnecessary travel and paperwork, while improving transparency and reducing errors throughout the Hajj application process.
