FAISALABAD: A 60-year-old man was arrested after allegedly killing his two young grandchildren for not obeying his orders in the Mamu Kanjan area on the outskirts of Faisalabad, police said.
According to police and media reports, the incident took place at a house in Village 557.
The accused, identified as Atta Muhammad, allegedly attacked the children after they failed to obey his orders. The victims were identified as five-year-old Nabil and seven-year-old Adeel.
Police said the children’s mother and grandmother sustained serious injuries while attempting to protect them. Both injured women were shifted for medical treatment, while the bodies of the children were taken into custody for legal formalities.
Following directions from Faisalabad City Police Officer (CPO), Mamu Kanjan police arrested the suspect and transferred him to the local police station.
Investigators said further proceedings were under way, and a case would be registered after the completion of initial legal procedures.
Police further stated that the children’s father works as a tailor in Dubai.
The incident comes weeks after another tragic case in Faisalabad, in which a man allegedly killed his six-year-old daughter, Dua Fatima, and two-year-old son, Muhammad Ahmed, while under the influence of alcohol. The accused, identified as Asif, was arrested by police.
