ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to initiate the second phase of the ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’ to provide youth more opportunities across the country
The directives were issued after a meeting with Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar on Tuesday. The government has decided to release Rs25 billion for the second phase of the flagship programme.
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has already issued a circular among other banking and commercial institutions in this regard. Under the next phase, the government has also increased the loan amount for phase 2 from Rs5 million to 20.5 million.
Loans will be provided at lower interest rates and reduce the markup from six percent to just three percent.

Usman Dar said that youths under the program can now get a loan of Rs25 million for business purposes. He said the decision was taken keeping in view the economic challenges due to coronavirus.
“Despite tremendous economic constraints the government allocated Rs100 billion for the youth of this country, the premier also increased the loan quotas from Rs5 million to Rs25 million,” said Dar.
“The government has brought the mark up to its lowest value in the country’s history along with allocating Rs30 billion for skilled based education.”
Earlier, Planning Minister Asad Umar said that Phase II ofKamyab Jawan Programme in collaboration with Ministry of Industries will give loans for the establishment of Utility Stores’ franchises.
Yesterday, Usman Dar has said that volunteers of the ‘Tiger Force’ will assist district administrations and other relevant organisations in the plantation drive across Pakistan.
In a meeting with the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam, Usman Dar said that Tiger Force volunteers are highly motivated and willing to extend their services towards the national cause.
Malik Amin Aslam appreciated their services and said the volunteers have extended matchless services during the emergency situation of corona pandemic.
He said that it would be extremely beneficial if services of these volunteers are available for plantation drive across the country.
