LAHORE: The Punjab Human Rights Department has developed a new mobile app through which violence against transgender can be reported. Violence, discrimination, and other complaints can be easily registered through the app.
According to the details, transgenders in Pakistan have more protection than in the past. However, in a society full of gender discrimination, many of them are still displaced to get their rights and there is no one to provide them justice.
In the last few years, transgenders have become the CNIC holders, education, property, votes, and many other rights. However, due to lack of law enforcement, the transgender community is deprived of their basic human rights and unemployed, who have to beg for a living.
Some transgenders said that attitudes towards them in Pakistan have changed in the past, but lack of education, unemployment, sexual violence, beatings, coercion, and other abuses, including humiliation in marriage.
Through the new app, any citizen will be able to report violence against transgenders, with the expectation that the oppression of this deprived section of the society will be reduced to some extent.
