Govt launches Ehsaas Ration Program for those earning less than Rs50,000 per month

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant Dr. Sania Nishtar, Finance Adviser, Special Assistant Shahbaz Gul, and other senior officials have attended the meeting of the Ehsaas Ration Program chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan today.

The meeting was briefed to the prime minister that the ration program would be launched across the country this month, under which grocery stores are being registered and so far more than 15,000 grocery stores have been registered, with a monthly subsidy.

On this occasion, the prime minister directed the concerned authorities to expedite the registration process for the benefit of the poor. During the meeting, PM Imran Khan was briefed that under the program, a concession of Rs.1000 is being given to 20 million households on flour, ghee, and pulses and this concession will be given to households earning less than Rs50,000 per month.

The government has also launched an ‘SMS’ service for registration after the announcement of the Ehsaas Ration Program to provide relief to the poor. On this occasion, PM Imran Khan said that the government is taking all possible steps for the convenience of people.

He also directed to include the district authorities for raising awareness among the potential beneficiaries. On the other hand, the prime minister, while sharing the opinion of his Twitter philosopher, said that those who do not learn from history repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
