ISLAMABAD: In a major boost for Pakistani citizens aspiring to work abroad, the government has introduced a streamlined digital facility to simplify the immigration process. The Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment has officially launched the online Protector (e-Protector), moving a once-cumbersome manual process into the digital age.
For years, the journey to overseas employment was often hindered by bureaucratic hurdles. Aspiring workers—particularly those from remote areas—were forced to travel long distances to Protector offices, incurring significant travel expenses and navigating complicated official procedures.
The new e-Protector system eliminates these barriers entirely. By allowing the entire registration process to be completed via mobile phone or computer, the government has removed the need for physical office visits.
Developed in accordance with the Immigration Ordinance 1979 and related legal frameworks, the system is designed not only for convenience but for integrity. The shift to a digital platform ensures that the process is now more transparent, efficient, and accessible to every citizen, regardless of their location.
