KARACHI: Gold prices on Monday remained stable in Pakistan, however, the yellow metal gained marginally in the international market.
The 10-gram gold price remained steady at Rs195,645 while the price of gold per tola remained fixed at Rs228,200 in the local market, according to figures released by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
The price of gold in Pakistan dropped by Rs4,200 per tola during the previous session.
According to APGJSA, the international rate for gold rose by $2 on Monday to settle at $2,187 per ounce, with a $20 premium.
Meanwhile, silver rates remained stable at Rs2,580 per tola.
Meanwhile, in the interbank market on Monday, the value of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar mostly held steady.
As of closing, the local currency was valued at 278.13, up Re0.01 versus the US dollar, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
During the previous week, the rupee increased marginally for the fourth consecutive week as it gained Re0.60 or 0.20% against the US dollar in the inter-bank market.
