Gold prices in Pakistan surged on Saturday, reflecting an increase in international rates.
The local market price for gold rose by Rs2,000 per tola, reaching Rs284,300. Meanwhile, the price of 10-gram gold climbed by Rs1,714, selling at Rs243,741, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
This rise follows a decrease on Friday when the gold price dropped by Rs800 to settle at Rs282,300.
On the global market, gold prices also experienced an uptick on Saturday. APGJSA reported an international rate of $2,748 per ounce (including a $20 premium), up by $22 for the day.
Silver prices held steady at Rs3,350 per tola.
Earlier, on Wednesday, gold reached an all-time high of Rs285,400 per tola in the local market.
In recent weeks, gold prices have reached historic levels amid Middle Eastern conflicts and uncertainties surrounding the upcoming US elections, driving investors toward safe-haven assets.
