Pakistani former actress Hajra Khan whose recent revelations about the private life of former prime minister and politician Imran Khan in her book ‘Where The Opium Grows: Surviving Pakistan as a Woman, an Actress And Knowing Imran Khan’, has created chaos among many, has spilled more beans on the matter.
Speaking at the launch of her book in Islamabad on Friday, Hajra Khan who once called Imran Khan ‘God’s favourite child’ in a 2014’s TV interview said she has made many mistakes in her life and she makes mistakes even today, but people should not repeat their mistakes.
According to her, the actress and her family were linked to Khan, and talking about her relationship with Imran Khan, Hajra said it was her mistake more than Imran Khan’s.
Hajra Khan first met Imran Khan at an actress’s birthday party in Karachi where they quickly developed a close bond. The memoir, which is already available on Amazon, attributes 40 percent of its content to Imran Khan. In her book, Hajra has clearly claimed that the PTI Chairman is a sexual predator and that not a single female party worker was safe from him.
Portraying Imran Khan as uniquely different from his public persona, Khan disclosed her encounters with him over several years, noting his complexity and contrasting nature.
Apart from Khan, Hajra’s memoir touches upon industry dynamics, tackling nepotism, entrenched norms, and even addressing sensitive issues like the ‘casting couch’ prevalent in showbiz, delving into her own experiences.
