LAHORE: Quetta Gladiators emerged victorious in a humdinger of a game against Peshawar Zalmi at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday, as the Babar Azam-led side fell short of 16 runs to reach the massive, 207-run target.
Due to an impressive partnership of 157 runs between Saud Shakeel and Jason Roy, Gladiators posted a competitive total on the scoreboard. Despite losing wickets, the team successfully surpassed the 200-run mark.
Although Zalmi began their innings strongly, they ultimately fell short of chasing the target as Quetta bowlers delivered an exceptional performance in the latter overs.
The PSL 9 was kicked off on Saturday night with a glitzy opening ceremony followed by first match wherein Islamabad United defeated defending champions Lahore Qalandars by eight wickets.
