ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed that there are excellent civil-military ties.
In a recent interview with a private TV channel, the prime minister while talking about civil-military relations, said that the civil and military leaders share a common goal. “This makes Pakistan one of the greatest countries in the world,” he asserted.
The prime minsiter has said that there is a lot of anger in the opposition meetings over the naming of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and ISI Chief Faiz Hameed.
“General Bajwa is a sesnisble man. He is well-rounded man and composed. That is why they are tolerating (Sharif’s narrative). If someone else was in the army, there would be a big reaction. There is a lot of anger in the army at the moment. But I know they are tolerating it because they believe in democracy. “
The prime minister said that the speeches by PML-N leader Nawaz Sharid were a ploy to pressure the military into removing a democratic government.
“Pakistan army is a state institution. They are subordinate to me. The Pakistan army is not sitting above me. I’m an elected prime minister of Pakistan. Has anyone heard this in any democracy in the world that my subordinate institution removes me,” he added.

The prime minister said that he would assist the Opposition if they came to Islamabad. “They cannot even last a week in Islamabad even if I support them.” He added, “The PDM can do anything that it wants. I am ready,” the prime minister further added.
The prime minister said that the PDM’s Lahore rally had damaged the Opposition’s alliance. “I am a long march specialist and I am telling you that this was a flop show,” the prime minister said.
He said that the PDM was being supported by anti-democratic forces . “Why is Nawaz so popular in India? He has become a hero there. He is doing what India is doing. Degrading Pakistan and destroying economy,” he said.
