GDA candidate Moazzam Abbasi wins by-election in PS-11 Larkana-II

LARKANA: Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) candidate Moazzam Abbasi has won the by-election in the Sindh Assembly constituency PS-11 Larkana-II by bagging 31,557 votes.
According to unofficial results, the GDA candidate Abbasi bagged 31,557 votes, while PPP’s Jameel Ahmed Soomro secured 26,021. Abbasi enjoyed the support of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) and other oppositon parties.
The GDA leader Nusrat Sehar Abbasi felicitated the party workers over an easy win against the PPP.
Nusrat Sehar Abbasi  said, “People of Larkana have taken revenge from PPP for not providing them food, education, and clean drinking water.”

Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda said that PPP had lost Larkana by-polls despite using state machinery.
PTI leader Ali Zaidi took to twitter saying, “Democracy is the best revenge, and today the people of Larkana have taken their revenge”.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had set up 138 polling stations in the constituency of 152,614 registered voters including 83,106 male and 69,598 female voters.
Out of 138 polling stations, 20 were declared highly sensitive and 50 sensitives.
The seat had fallen vacant after GDA’s MPA Moazzam Ali Khan Abbasi was de-seated for failing to declare his assets following a petition filed moved by PPP’s Nida Khuhro.
The polling for PS-11-Larkana-II by-election started at 8:00 am and continued till 5:00 pm without any break. At least 138 polling stations were set up in the constituency for 152,614 registered voters, 83,106 male, and 69,598 female voters.
20 polling stations in the constituency were declared as highly sensitive while 50 have been declared as sensitive.
