QUETTA: A Frontier Corps (FC) soldier was martyred in a gun attack at a security check post near Hoshab in Kech district of Balochistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said that terrorists opened fire on FC Balochistan check post established for the security of N-85 Highway near Hoshab last night.
During an exchange of fire with the terrorists, Sepoy Asad Mehdi embraced martyrdom, the military’s media wing said. It added the area has been cordoned off with all escape routes blocked to apprehend the fleeing terrorists, adding a search operation is also in progress.
On February 12, four soldiers were martyred as terrorists opened fire at a check post in Makeen area of South Waziristan According to ISPR, four terrorists were also killed as security forces opened retaliatory fire.
The martyred personnel were identified as Lance Naik Imran Ali, sepoys Atif Jeghangir, Aziz and Anees-ur-Rehman. The military’s press wing said a clearance operation is underway in the area.
Earlier, a five-year-old child was killed and seven other children sustained injuries Bajaur district in a cross-border rocket attack from Afghanistan. The military’s press wing said terrorists fired at least five rockets from inside Afghanistan which fell in Mamund area of Bajaur.
