Special pink buses will be available for female students and teachers in Islamabad starting August 7. The service will cover all major routes in the capital city and will be offered free of cost. These buses will connect rural areas with urban centers, providing a safer and more convenient travel option.
The initiative is designed to benefit female students and teachers by offering free, safe, and accessible transportation. It aims to boost girls’ education, empower women, and support inclusive development in Islamabad.
Regular monitoring and evaluation will be conducted to ensure the smooth operation of the service. This program, managed by the Ministry of Federal Education, follows the introduction of the Pink Bus Service by the Sindh government in Karachi, where it is currently available on various routes.
Despite pink buses, the Sindh government also runs People Bus Sevices in different cities of the province including Karachi to provide better transport facilities to the public.
