Four women lost their lives on Wednesday when a house roof caved in at Dak Lam Shah in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Rescue 1122, emergency teams rushed to the scene soon after receiving the alert. Initial reports suggested that five people were buried beneath the debris. Rescue workers launched an operation and managed to pull the victims out, providing first aid and CPR before shifting them to District Hospital Khar.
Hospital authorities later confirmed that two women and two young girls had succumbed to their injuries. The deceased were identified as the wives of Abdullah Jan and Rehmatullah, and the daughters of Rasool Khan and Aziz. One injured woman, the wife of Rasool Khan, is currently under treatment.
Officials said the exact cause of the collapse is yet to be determined, and an investigation is underway.
The incident follows a series of similar tragedies in the province, where heavy rains last month caused multiple roof and wall collapses, resulting in at least 17 deaths across various districts.
