ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported 4 more deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of confirmed positive cases has surged to 1,520,120.
The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 30,317 on Wednesday.
According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 493 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Pakistan has conducted 34,698 tests in the past 24 hours out of which 493 persons were tested positive for the disease. The COVID Positivity Ratio was recorded at 1.42 percent.
As per NCOC data, the nerve centre leading Pakistan’s fight against COVID-19, four more people died from COVID-19 in past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 30,317.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Covid-19 virus was confirmed to have reached Pakistan on 26 February 2020, when two cases were recorded including a student in Karachi who had just returned from Iran and another person in Islamabad.
