Foreign currency rates in Pakistan on June 30, 2026

The Pakistani rupee edged up against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Monday, posting a marginal appreciation of 0.01%.

At the close of trading, the local currency settled at Rs278.17 per dollar, gaining three paisas from its previous close of Rs278.20.

In global currency markets, the US dollar remained under pressure on Monday but was still on course to record its strongest monthly performance in nearly a year.

The euro was little changed at $1.1387 after touching a 13-month low against the greenback last week. Despite the stable session, the common currency was headed for a monthly decline of 2.3%.

The British pound slipped 0.1% to $1.3198, taking its losses for the month to 2%.

Among commodity-linked currencies, the Australian dollar eased 0.1% to $0.6885 and was on track to post a monthly decline of 4.1%, while the New Zealand dollar held steady at $0.5635, leaving it down 5.9% for the month.

The Japanese yen traded at 161.75 per dollar, remaining close to its weakest level in four decades.

Meanwhile, the US dollar index, which tracks the greenback against a basket of major currencies including the euro and the yen, edged up to 101.36. The index was on track to gain 2.5% in June, marking its biggest monthly advance since July last year.
