ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office spokesperson Ayesha Farooqui has summoned an Indian High Commission’s diplomat over the Indian ceasefire violations at the Line of Control (LoC).
According to a statement issued by the foreign office, the foreign officer summoned Indian diplomat over India’s violation at the LoC that happened in Nezapir and Rakhchikri sectors yesterday.
The spokesperson stated that the unprovoked Indian forces firing killed an innocent civilian minor and injured a 13-year old Abida Jamal from the village Fatehpur.
The officer further said that Indian forces have been continuously targeting civilians with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars, and automatic weapons.
Moreover, the statement from the foreign office stated, “This unprecedented escalation in ceasefire violations by India is continuing from the year 2017 when the Indian forces committed 1970 ceasefire violations. This year India has committed 287 ceasefire violations to date.”
The foreign officer was quoted saying that the ceasefire violations by India were a threat to regional peace and security and it might lead to a strategic miscalculation.
Earlier on Friday, Indian troops resorted to the unprovoked fire along the LoC in Neza Pir sector deliberately targeting the civilian population. As a result, a 13-year-old girl sustained injuries after a mortar shell fell on her house in the area.
This is the second incident occurred just in a week, earlier on Monday, ten citizens including two women and children were injured due to unprovoked firing from the Indian forces at the areas near LoC.
